The preparation of difluoromethylenephosphonateanalogues of the glycolytic intermediates, glycerol-3-phosphate and 3-phosphoglycerate are described. Attempts to prepare the corresponding analogue of dihydroxyacetone phosphate failed due the facile elimination of hydrogen fluoride from the target molecule.
