    A thermosensitive reversible recording material capable of forming and holding clear colored images with a high contrast and capable of being repeatedly color-developed and color-erased many times, has a thermosensitive recording layer formed on a substrate sheet and including, in addition to a substantially colorless dye precursor, a reversibly color-developing and color-erasing aromatic compound of the formula (I), and a color-erasing promoter compound of the formula II.     The present invention provides a heat-sensitive recording body that is excellent in high-speed recording properties, that makes it possible to perform high-quality image recording with a high sensitivity even at a low thermal energy, and that is excellent in printability and economy. A heat-sensitive recording body containing a support, an intermediate layer, and a heat-sensitive color forming layer comprising as main components a leuco dye and a developer, the intermediate layer and the heat-sensitive color forming layer stacked on the support in the order as mentioned, wherein the intermediate layer contains a hollow particle containing a hollow core portion formed by drying a solvent for an alkali-swellable aqueous gel comprising a (meth)acrylic-based copolymer having an acid value of 200 to 400 mgKOH/g, and a resin portion encapsulating the core portion and having a non-alkali-swellable outermost layer of the particle, the non-alkali-swellable outermost layer formed using a hydrophobic monomer, and the hollow particle has an average particle diameter of 1.5 to 3.5 μm and a percentage of hollowness of 60 to 85%.

    A main purpose of the present invention is to provide a heat-sensitive recording medium that utilizes a chromogenic reaction between a dye precursor and a developer, wherein a colored image is tinged with a metallic luster so as to exhibit a gold metal color tone with a vivid appearance, or to provide a heat-sensitive recording medium exhibiting a yellow or gold metal color tone and a color tone different from the yellow or gold metal color tone, wherein the color optical density in each of the color tones is high, and a recording part has excellent color separation properties. The present invention provides a heat-sensitive recording medium comprising a heat-sensitive recording layer containing a dye precursor and a developer on a support, the dye precursor being a dye precursor which is colored to a yellow color tone, wherein: (a) the support has a metallic luster and provides a metallic luster to a surface of a base material not having a metallic luster; and/or (b) the dye precursor which is colored to a yellow color tone is a first dye precursor, and the heat-sensitive recording medium further contains a second dye precursor which is colored to a different color tone from the first dye precursor; the first dye precursor being a compound having a specific pyridine skeleton; and the second dye precursor: (b1) has a form of fine composite particles containing the second dye precursor and a polymer compound; or (b2) has a melting point of 200° C. or more.
