Highly Efficient Hydrosilylation of Diyne and Triyne π-Electron Bridges: Its Application to Fluorescent Dyes and Silylene-Spaced Vinylarene Compounds

A variety of diyne and triyne pi-electron bridges were hydrosilylated to afford the bis- and tris(silylvinyl) pi-electron bridges. The hydrosilylation products underwent substitution reactions with a variety of compounds containing chromophore units to give fluorescent dye substituted products. The easy access of the silyl hydrides may be applied to construct a large number of copolymers.
