  [EN] The invention relates to dyes which contain, in a cosmetically acceptable carrier, at least one compound of general formula (I) as the dye precursor, wherein X represents a hydroxy group or a group NR³R⁴, R¹, R³, R⁴ independently represent a hydrogen atom, a C₁-C₆ alkyl group, a C₁-C₆ alkenyl group, a C₁-C₆hydroxyalkyl group, a C₂-C₆ polyhydroxyalkyl group, a C₁-C₆ alkoxy-C₂-C₆ alkyl group, an aryl-C₁-C₆ alkyl group or a group R^IR^IIN-(CH₂)_n-, wherein n is an integer from 1 to 6 and R^I and R^II independently represent a hydrogen atom, a C₁-C₆ alkyl group, a C₁-C₆alkenyl group, a C₁-C₆ hydroxyalkyl group, a C₂-C₆polyhydroxyalkyl group, a C₁-C₆ alkoxy-C₂-C₆alkyl group or an aryl-C₂-C₆ alkyl group. R² represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxy group, a C₁-C₆ alkyl group, a C₁-C₆ alkoxy group, a C₁-C₆alkenyl group, a C₁-C₆ hydroxyalkyl group, a C₂-C₆polyhydroxyalkyl group, a C₁-C₆ alkoxy-C₂-C₆alkyl group or an amino group, or contain a salt thereof. The dyes according to the invention give intense colorations of keratin fibers, especially human hair, especially in natural nuances. The dyes have very good color fastness and excellent leveling power.
