INFRARED SPECTRA OF<i>C</i>-FLUOROPHOSPHAETHYNE FC≡P AND<i>C</i>-DIFLUOROPHOSPHAETHENE CF<sub>2</sub>=PH

The infrared spectra of gaseous CF3PH2 treated with KOH have been measured in the 2500–400 cm−1 region by a Fourier transform spectrometer. Most of the bands newly observed on the KOH treatment have been assigned to the vibrations of unstable species, C-fluorophosphaethyne FC≡P and C-difluorophosphaethene CF2=PH.
