    Polyester films of the present invention are especially used for packaging material, and particularly to polyester film that is preferably used for a food packing container and the like by coloring polyester film with organic pigment. A first polyester film of the present invention contains organic pigment of 0.01 to 5 weight % having a molecular weight of 695 to 1000 in a polyester resin. A second polyester film of the present invention is composed mainly of ethylene terephthalate units, having a polyester resin layer (A) made of polyester resin containing copolymerized compounds of 1.5 to 8 mole % and, moreover, containing of organic pigment of 0.01 to 5 weight % and ethylene terephthalate cyclic trimer of 0.2 to 0.9 weight % in the layer (A).

    Polyamide is semi-continuously depolymerized by: (a) charging the polyamide to a depolymerization reactor containing 5 to 50% by weight of an unpolymerized catalyst; (b) melting the polyamide and subjecting the resultant melt to a flow of superheated steam to obtain a steam distillate; (c) separating amide monomers in the distillate from other volatiles therein; (d) when conversion to amide monomers is 40 to 90% complete, recharging polyamide to the depolymerization reactor; and (e) repeating steps (a) - (d) until a desired amount of polyamide is depolymerized.

    A readily bondable polyester film excellent in antistatic performance, slipperiness, bondability, blocking resistance, water solubility, solvent resistance, chipping resistance, and so forth, and suitable as magnetic recording material, various photographic materials, wrapping material, electrical insulation material, general industrial materials, and so forth. This film is composed of a polyester base and, formed on at least one side thereof, a layer formed from a mixture mainly comprising a copolyester composition and oxidized wax and/or natural wax, which composition contains a polyoxyalkylene glycol component in an amount of 1 wt. % or above to less than 40 wt. %.
