  The palladium-catalyzed cycloaminocarbonylation of 2-(aminomethyl)aryl tosylates with CO has been established, by which a variety of salicylaldehyde derived 2-(aminomethyl)aryl tosylates may be cyclocarbonylated in the presence of CO, to afford the corresponding substituted isoindolinones in moderate to excellent yields.
