[M(CO) 5 OR)] (M=Cr, Mo, W: R=Ph, C 6 H 4 CH 3 −m) from the reaction of M(CO) 5 THF and [Et 4 N] [OR] in tetrahydrofuran is reported. In the absence of a carbon monoxide atmosphere these mononuclear species readily aggregate via a CO dissociation pathway to the tetranuclear species [Et 4 N] 4 [M(CO) 3 OR] 4 .
