    A Ni-catalyzed halogenation of enol triflates was developed and it enables the synthesis of a broad range of alkenyl iodides, bromides, and chlorides under mild reaction conditions.     Vinyl chlorides and bromides are obtained in good yield from the corresponding ketones and acetyl halides in the presence of trifluoroacetic or trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. The Z isomer is selectively formed.

    Structurally diverse aryl chlorides were silylated with sodium silylsilanolate reagents in the presence of a Ni(cod)2 catalyst complexed with a phosphine ligand; PMe2Ph for electron-rich substrates, and PCy2Ph for electron-deficient ones. The mild reaction conditions allowed the silylation of various aryl chlorides including functionalised drug molecules.
