The invention provides 2, 3-, 4- or 5-substituted-N1-(benzensulfonyl)indoles compounds of the general formula (I) in which Ar, R?2, R3, R4 and R5¿ are as defined in the specification. The said compounds have affinity for the 5-HT¿6? receptor and are useful for the treatment and prophylaxis of disorders relating to the said receptor, such as obesity and CNS disorders.
