  (EN) A process for preparing a substituted or unsubstituted 4(5)-($g(v)-aminoalkyl)imidazole of formula (5), wherein n is 1 to 6, R1 is hydrogen or a linear, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated alkyl group having 1-6 C-atoms or a phenyl ring being unsubstituted, or mono- or di-substituted with groups such as lower alkyl, halogen, alkoxy, methylendioxy or a combination thereof, and R2 is hydrogen or methyl, by brominating an $g(v)-phthalimidoalkan-2-one with bromine in anhydrous methanol to a 1- or 3-bromo-$g(v)-phthalimido-alkan-2-one, subjecting said derivative to ring closure with an amidine in N.N-dimethylformamide with potassium carbonate under mild conditions followed by hydrolytic separation of the phthalic residue.(FR) Est décrit un procédé pour préparer un 4(5)-($g(v)-aminoalkyle)imidazole substitué ou non substitué de formule (5) où n vaut entre 1 et 6, R1 est hydrogène ou un groupe alkyle linéaire, ramifié ou cyclique, saturé ou insaturé ayant de 1 à 6 atomes de C, ou bien un composé cyclique de phényle non substitué, ou mono ou disubstitué avec des groupes tels qu'un alkyle inférieur, halogène, alkoxy, méthylènedioxy ou une combinaison de ceux-ci, et R2 est hydrogène ou méthyle, par bromation d'un $g(v)-phtalimidoalcane-2-one avec du brome dans du méthanol anhydre pour obtenir un 1- ou 3-bromo-$g(v)-phtalimido-alcane-2-one, par cyclisation dudit dérivé avec une amidine dans du N.N-diméthylformamide avec du carbonate de potassium dans des conditions modérées, suivie d'une séparation hydrolytique du résidu phtalique.
