The present invention relates to a smectic A phase liquid crystal material, which contains at least one heterocyclic compound of Formula (I):
where X and Z are a phenyl ring, F is a fluorine atom, and any one of hydrogen atoms on the phenyl ring may be substituted with a fluorine atom; in the case of Y being a phenyl ring, T is a nitrogen atom, and any one of carbon atoms on the phenyl ring may be substituted with a nitrogen atom; and in the case of Y being a cyclohexyl ring, T is an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom and/or a boron atom, and any one of carbon atoms on the cyclohexyl ring may be substituted with an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom and/or a boron atom. The smectic A phase liquid crystal material of the present invention may further contain at least one ester compound of Formula (II) and an ionic compound. By using the smectic A phase liquid crystal material in a display device, a displayed image can be completely erased without any residual images after long-term placement or long-term drive, the contrast is generally higher than 10, and the drive voltage is generally 20 to 50 V.
