Synthesis and binding affinity of rationally designed artificial ditopic nucleobase receptors are reported. The ditopic receptors were designed to recognize thymine-thymine dinucleotides by their two hydrogen-bonding moieties, which are connected to conformationally well-defined linkages such as ferrocene and biphenylene.
