Synthesis and Characterization of Diaquatetra(3,5‐dinitrobenzoato)tetrasilver(I) and Polymeric (Ethylenediaminesilver(I) Di(3,5‐dinitrobenzoato)silver(I) Dihydrate)

Two new silver complexes have been synthesized, diaquatetra(3,5-dinitrobenzoato)-tetrasilver(I) ( 1) and polymeric (ethylenediaminesilver(I) di(3,5-dinitrobenzoato)silver(I) dihydrate) ( 2). These two complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and X-ray crystallographic technique. The crystal structure of ( 1) belongs to the monoclinic system with the space group P2(1)/c, a = 5.685(11) angstrom, b = 16.96 angstrom, c = 19.67(4) angstrom, alpha = 90.00 degrees, beta = 90.00(3)degrees, gamma = 90.00 degrees, U = 1897(6) angstrom(3), Z = 2, Dx = 1.544 g cm(-3). The crystal structure of ( 2) belongs to the triclinic system with the space group P-1. a = 6.978(2) angstrom, beta = 12.919(5) angstrom, c = 15.0291(5) angstrom, alpha = 84.320(6)degrees, beta = 76.810(5)degrees, gamma = 79.612(6)degrees, U = 1295.2(8)(3), Z = 2, Dx = 1.882 g cm(-3).
