  Provided are a hybrid having a free base amlodipine intercalated in a layered silicate and a process for preparing the same. The hybrid of a free base amlodipine with a layered silicate is easily dispersible in an aqueous solution and has a wide range of elution rate of amlodipine, i.e., 50 - 97 %, and thus, the amlodipine can be controlled to a concentration suitable for absorption by the human body. The hybrid can be useful as a material for an oral amlodipine preparation.
