  Two bis-axially coordinated iron phthalocyanines, bis-[3-aminopyridine] phthalocyaninatoiron (3-ampyFePc) and bis-[4-aminopyridine] phthalocyaninatoiron (4-ampyFePc), were synthesized and characterized. The intermolecular pi-pi intereactions are investigated from the crystal structures and related to the lambda(max) of UV/vis diffuse reflectance spectra (UV/vis DRS). (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V.
