  The reaction between CpPbCl and (CpK)-K-thf-(THF) (1:2 equiv, Cp-thf = 2-tetrahydrofurfurylcyclopentadienyl) in THF solvent unexpectedly results in formation of the homoleptic paddle-wheel complex [{(eta(5)-Cp)(2)Pb(mu:eta(5)-Cp)K}.2THF] (3). The outcome of the reaction is likely to be due to a solvent-promoted ligand redistribution process.
