  (EN) Liquid crystalline (meth)acrylates of the invention include at least three rigid rod-like moieties. One of these moieties is comprised between the (meth)acrylate rests and further two moieties are bonded as side chains. The liquid crystalline (meth)acrylates polymerizable using redox initiators and/or photo intiators. The (meth)acrylates of the invention polymerize quantitative and with very low volume shrinkage of less than 2.5 percent. The invention provides a polymerizable compound within the scope of general formula (I). These compounds are used in dental compositions and methods of use thereof.(FR) L'invention concerne des (méth)acrylates à cristaux liquides comprenant au moins trois fractions en bâtonnet rigide. L'une de ses fractions est située entre les sites de (méth)acrylate, et les deux autres sont reliées sous forme de chaînes latérales. Les (méth)acrylates à cristaux liquides considérés sont polymérisables au moyen d'initiateurs rédox et/ou d'amorces photochimiques. Ils offrent une polymérisation en quantité et un retrait à très faible volume inférieur à 2,5 %. Les composés polymérisables décrits dans l'invention sont représentés par la formule générale (I). On décrit par ailleurs l'emploi de ces matériaux dans les compositions dentaires et les procédés d'utilisation correspondants.
