Dual Catalysis of Gold Nanoclusters: Photocatalytic Cross‐Dehydrogenative Coupling by Cooperation of Superatomic Core and Molecularly Modified Staples**
nanoclusters were found to show a dual catalysis toward photocatalytic cross-dehydrogenativecoupling reactions between aliphatic tertiaryamines and terminalalkynes to produce propargylamine products. The dual catalysis was enabled by the cooperation of the superatomic core and staple moieties for the photooxidation of amines and the carbon-carbon bond formation.

A cross-dehydrogenative coupling process has been developed involving the enzymatic oxidation of tetrahydroisoquinolines (THIQ) together with gold-catalyzed C-C bond-formation. The transformation demonstrates the compatibility of gold-mediated chemocatalysis and mono amine oxidase biocatalysis which act co-operatively in one vessel. A range of N-alkyl THIQs were functionalized in this manner at C-(1) position in high yields.
