  Here, we report a versatile multicomponent synthesis of novel quinazolinon-2-yl-tetrasubstituted thiophenes by a one-pot reaction using different alkyl-3-aminobutenoates, isothiocyanates and 2-halomethyl quinazolinones in good to excellent yields.
