  Reaction of DL-3-sulfanylpropane-1,2-diol with [O(AuPPh(3))(3)]BF4 afforded a dinuclear complex [Au-2(PPh(3))(3){SCH2CH(OH)CH2OH}] in which two gold environments, linear and trigonal planar, are present in the same molecule; the complex has been structurally characterized.
