  A novel. substituted pyridinesulfonamide compound having a pyridine ring with an N-substituted aminocarbonyl group, I or 2 Y groups, and a particular substituted group (if any), and a pyrimidine ring with a specific substituted group at the 3-position of the sulfonyl urea chain. where Y represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group. an alkylthio group, an alkoxyalkyl group, or non-substituted or substituted amino group. The compound is effective as the herbicide for corn fields.
