    A pre-prodrug, comprising a drug, e.g., doxorubicin, which has off-target toxicity (e.g., cardiotoxicity) with respect to its antineoplastic activity, and an amine functionality of the drug incorporated into a disubstituted maleimide (DMI). The pre-prodrug may be linked to a targeting or de-targeting agent or a polar modulator, e.g., charged ligand, amino acid, peptide, etc., to increase therapeutic index. The pre-prodrug is hydrolyzed to the prodrug, having a disubstituted maleamic acid (DMA). A polar modulator such as glutamic acid prevents cellular uptake of the prodrug, but not the doxorubicin drug released from the prodrug after dissociation. The prodrug is pH sensitive, and below pH 7.0, tends to cleave to form free drug and cyclized maleic anhydride. Tumor environments tend to be more acidic, e.g., pH 6.8, than cardiac tissue, e.g., pH 7.4, and therefore the heart is spared while the drug is selectively released within a tumor.

    In a lithium ion secondary battery according to one embodiment of the present invention, an electrode includes an electrode active material, a conductive auxiliary agent, and a binding material configured by a binding component that binds the conductive auxiliary agent and forms a conduction path between the electrode active material, and by a melting point depressant that lowers a melting point of the binding component. The melting point depressant is a PTC functionality-imparting component that lowers the melting start temperature of the binding material and imparts the PTC functionality to the lithium ion secondary battery. The lithium ion secondary battery according to the invention is configured such that, when short circuit heat generation has occurred within the battery due to a conductive foreign substance, the binding material at a periphery of the foreign substance melts to sever the conduction path.

    The disclosure provides a film composition, wherein the film composition includes an oligomer and a crosslinking agent. The oligomer can have a structure represented by Formula (I) wherein R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen, C1-20 alkyl group, C2-20 alkenyl group, C6-12 aryl group, C6-12 alkylaryl group, C5-12 cycloalkyl group, C6-20 cycloalkylalkyl group, alkoxycarbonyl group, or alkylcarbonyloxy group; R1 is not hydrogen when R2 is hydrogen; a is 0 or 1; 100≥n≥1; 100≥m≥1; and when n is not 0, the ratio of n to m is from 3:1 to 1:4. The weight ratio of the oligomer and the crosslinking agent can be from 9:1 to 3:7. The oligomer has a number average molecular weight (Mn) from 1,000 to 8,000.
