The decay of NH2 radicals, from 193 nm photolysis of NH3, was monitored by 597.7 nm laser-induced fluorescence. Room-temperature rate constants of (1.21 ± 0.14) × 10−10, (1.81 ± 0.12) × 10−11, and (2.11 ± 0.18) × 10−11 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 were obtained for the reactions of NH2 with N, NO and NO2, respectively. Cationic and neutral nitrosamide: viable molecules in the dilute gas phase
Nitrosamide, NH2NO, has been generated and characterized in the dilutegasphase by means of neutralization reionization mass spectrometry in combination with extensive isotopic labelling. The molecule was found to be stable under these conditions having a minimal lifetime in the microsecond time frame. No evidence for isomerizations either of the cationic or the neutralnitrosamide was obtained.
