  Dithiobis(carbonyl chloride) (I) was synthesized for the first time by the hydrolysis of bis(trichloromethyl) disulfide in concentrated sulfuric acid. Treatment of I with amines and phenels gave bis(carhamoyl) disulfides (III) and bis(oxycarbonyl) disulfides (IV), respectively.
