    In einer Eintopfreaktion oder in zwei getrennten Stufen werden 3-Pyrazolidinone durch Umsetzung einer β-Hydroxypropionsäure der Formel worin R2 Alkyl oder Hydroxyalkyl und R3 Hydroxyalkyl ist, mit einem Phenylhydrazin der Formel worin R4 Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Hydroxyl oder Halogen ist, zu einem β-Hydroxypropionsäurehydrazid und anschliessende Zyklisierung des Hydrazids hergestellt. Bei der Zyklisierung des Hydrazids und gegebenenfalls auch schon bei seiner Bildung aus Säure- und Hydrazinkomponente ist ein saurer Katalysator anwesend. Das Verfahren führt nach kurzer Reaktionszeit zu hohen Ausbeuten an 3-Pyrazolidinonen.

    A novel color diffusion transfer photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, comprising at least a light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer combined with a dye providing compound capable of releasing or producing a diffusible dye, an image-receiving layer capable of mordanting said diffusible dye and a neutralizing layer, said light-sensitive material further comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of polymers obtained by the condensation of at least one of compounds represented by the general formula (I) and at least one of compounds represented by the general formula (II) in the presence of an acid or alkaline catalyst; polymers obtained by the condensation of at least one of compounds represented by the general formula (I) and at least one of compounds represented by the general formula (III) in the presence of an acid catalyst: novolak resins obtained by the condensation of at least one of compounds represented by the general formula (I) and at least one of compounds represented by the general formula (IV) in the presence of an acid catalyst in a uniform organic solvent system while eliminating off water produced upon azeotropy; and polymers obtained by the condensation of at least one of compounds represented by the general formula (I) and at least one of compounds represented by the general formula (V) in the presence of an acid catalyst: wherein G represents a hydroxyl group or a group which undergoes hydrolysis by an alkali to produce a hydroxyl group; n represents an integer 1 or more, with the proviso that the plurality of G's may be the same or different; RI and R2 may be the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom of a substituent on benzene ring; R13 and R14 may be the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, heterocyclic group, acyl group, carboxyl group or formyl group; R23 represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, heterocyclic group, acyl group, carboxyl group or formyl group; R33 represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, acyl group, alkenyl group, heterocyclic group, carboxyl group or formyl group; R43 represents a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, aryl group, aralkyl group, heterocyclic group, acyl group or carboxyl group; and R44 and R45 may be the same or different and each represents an alkyl group, with the proviso that R44 and R45 may be connected to each other to form a ring.

A color diffusion-transfer photographic film unit, which comprises an image-receiving element, which comprises, on a support, a layer having a neutralizing function, an image-receiving layer, and a peel layer, in this order, a light-sensitive element, which comprises, on a support having a light-shielding layer, at least one silver halide emulsion layer combined with at least one dye-image-forming compound, and an alkaline processing composition to be developed between the image-receiving element and the light-sensitive element, such that an image is obtained by subjecting to exposure to light, processing by developing the alkaline processing composition between the elements, and peeling the image-receiving element from the light-sensitive element, wherein the image-receiving element comprises a titanium oxide-containing layer formed by coating a coating solution containing the aqueous dispersion on the support.

    An ultraviolet shielding filter agent, which contains fine-particle titanium oxide, and which satisfies the following condition (A), (B) or (C): (A) that the fine-particle titanium oxide has an average primary particle diameter or average primary short-axis particle diameter of 1 to 45 nm and is surface-treated with a specific amount of aluminum oxide and/or silicon dioxide, and that the ultraviolet shielding filter agent further comprises a polyhydric alcohol; (B) that the fine-particle titanium oxide has an average primary particle diameter or average primary short-axis particle diameter from 1 to 45 nm, and has rutile crystallinity from 20 to 70%, and that the ultraviolet shielding filter agent further comprises a polyhydric alcohol; or (C) that the fine-particle titanium oxide has a primary particle shape of a cylindrical shape or a spindle shape, and that among average primary particle diameters of the fine-particle titanium oxide, a short-axis diameter is from 1 to 45 nm, a long-axis diameter is from 3 to 200 nm, and a ratio of the long-axis diameter to the short-axis diameter is from 2 to 10. A color diffusion transfer photographic film unit, which uses the ultraviolet shielding filter agent.
