Preparation and Circular Dichroism Spectra of<i>trans</i>-Dichlorocobalt(III) Complexes with (2-Aminoethyl)diphenylphosphine and Related Ligands. Crystal Structures of<i>trans</i>(Cl,Cl),<i>cis</i>(P,P)-[CoCl<sub>2</sub>{NH<sub>2</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>P(C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>5</sub>)<sub>2</sub>}<sub>2</sub>]·1/2[CoCl<sub>4</sub>] and -[CoCl<sub>2</sub>{NH<sub>2</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>CH<sub>2</sub>P(C<sub>4</sub>H<sub>9</sub>)(C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>5</sub>)}<sub>2</sub>]ClO<sub>4</sub>

The crystal structures of [CoCl2(2-aminoethyl)diphenylphosphine}2]1/2[CoCl4] and [CoCl2(R)-(2-aminoethyl)butylphenylphosphine}2]ClO4 have been determined by X-ray analyses. Both complex cations have a distorted octahedral coordination with two Cl atoms in the trans positions and two P (and N) atoms in the cis positions.
