Unusual Transformation of N-Arylbenzohydroxamic Acids Mediated by Osmium. Formation of Organometallic Complexes of Osmium(III) The N-arylbenzohydroxamic acids (1) undergo unusual chemical transformation upon reaction with [Os(bpy)(2)Br-2] and afford a family of organometallic complexes of osmium(III) (2), where the transformed hydroxamic acids are coordinated to osmium as doubly deprotonated benzanilides.
