The contact lens material comprises a copolymer obtained by polymerizing copolymer components containing a particular silicone-containing monomer, wherein the total residual amount of unpolymerized monomer components remaining in the copolymer based on the copolymer is at most 3.5 % by weight, an oxygen permeability coefficient of the copolymer is at least 130 × 10-11 (cm2/sec)·(mLO2)/(mL·mmHg), and a water absorption ratio of the copolymer is at most 0.3 % by weight.
