It has been found that the compounds of formula (I) are orexin receptor antagonists and the related compounds may be useful in the treatment of sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, parasomnia, jet lag syndrome, circadian rhythms disorder or sleep disorders associated with neurological diseases.
