Abstract The condensation of 2,6-diacetylpyridine with 6- chloro-2-hydrazinopyridine in the presence of acid results in the formation of the novel pentadentate ligand 2,6-diacetylpyridinebis(6-chloro-2-pyridyl- hydrazone).
