    [Problem to be Solved] To provide an acetylene compound having a structure in which a unit having an amino group and a unit having an ethynyl group are bonded via a linking group, the acetylene compound being introducable to a polymer having thermal resistance. [Means for Solving the Problem] An acetylene compound represented by the following Formula (1) and a salt thereof: wherein in Formula (1), X represents a single bond or a divalent linking group; A represents a hydrocarbon group, a heteroaromatic ring or a heteroalicyclic compound; B represents a hydrocarbon group, a heteroaromatic ring, a heteroalicyclic compound or a single bond; R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, a heteroaromatic ring, a heteroalicyclic compound or a silyl group; R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a group that can be a substituent of an amino group; and m, n and a each independently represent an integer of 1 or greater.

    An aromatic ether oligomer or polyaromatic ether comprising the formula: 1 wherein Ar is an independently selected divalent aromatic radical; formed by reacting a dihydroxyaromatic with a dihaloaromatic; and wherein the reaction is performed in the presence of a copper compound and cesium carbonate. The polyaromatic ether is formed when neither the dihydroxyaromatic nor the dihaloaromatic is present in an excess amount. The aromatic ether oligomer is formed by using an excess of either dihydroxyaromatic or dihaloaromatic. A phthalonitrile monomer comprising the formula: 2 formed by reacting a 3- or 4-nitrophthalonitrile with a hydroxy-terminated aromatic ether oligomer.     A prepreg includes; sizing agent-coated carbon fibers coated with a sizing agent; and a thermosetting resin composition impregnated into the sizing agent-coated carbon fibers. The sizing agent includes an aliphatic epoxy compound (A) and an aromatic compound (B) at least containing an aromatic epoxy compound (B1). The thermosetting resin composition includes a thermosetting resin (D) and a latent hardener (E), and optionally includes an additive (F) other than the thermosetting resin (D) and the latent hardener (E). The (a)/(b) ratio is within a predetermined range where (a) is the height of a component at a binding energy assigned to CHx, C—C, and C═C and (b) is the height of a component at a binding energy assigned to C—O in a C 1s core spectrum of the surfaces of the sizing agent-coated carbon fibers analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

    A polyimide semipermeable membrane is prepared by the process comprising the steps of: preparing a solution of a polyimide material consisting essentially of at least one aromatic polyimide comprising at least 90 molar % of at least one recurring unit of the formula (1): wherein R represents a divalent aromatic radical, in a solvent consisting of at least one phenol compound in the state of a liquid or melt; forming a thin layer of the polyimide solution, and; coagulating the thin layer of the polyimide solution by bringing the thin layer into contact with a coagulating liquid to form a semipermeable membrane.
