31P and 195 Pt NMR studies on fluxional η1-ligated 1,2,4-triphosphacyclopentadienyl palladium(II) and platinum(II) complexes

Detailed 31P and 195Pt NMR studies on complexes of the type trans-[MCl(P3C2tBu2)(PR3)2], trans-[M(P3 C2tBu2)2(PR3)2], (M Pd, Pt), and cis-[Pt(P3C2tBu2)2(dppe)], including variable temperature measurements, have given information on (i) the structures of the complexes, (ii) the mechanism of the ‘fluxional’ process involving the P3 C2tBu2 ring, and (iii) the signs of certain coupling constants.
