  Highly functionalised and polysubstituted tetrahydropyrans, akin to the middle core of the amphidinols, can be efficiently synthesised, with full stereocontrol and in good yields, using as key steps an anti-allylation reaction coupled with an intramolecular Sakurai cyclisation.
