  The reactions of alpha,beta-dibromo-beta-nitrostyrenes with acetylacetone and ethyl acetoacetate were studied. The structures of the products were determined by H-1 NMR, IR, and UV spectroscopy. The products derived from acetylacetone were converted into copper chelates.
