    An absorbent resin particle comprising a crosslinked polymer (A) and a hydrophobic substance (C), the crysslinked polymer (A) including, as essential constituent units, a water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1), and/or a vinyl monomer (a2) that is formed into the water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1) by hydrolysis, and an internal crosslinking agent (b), is provided, wherein the absorbent resin particle has a structure such that a part or an entirety of the hydrophobic substance (C) is contained in the inside of each particle of the absorbent resin particle. Further, an absorber and an absorbent article in which the foregoing absorbent resin particle is employed are provided also. It is possible to provide the absorbent resin particle applicable for forming an absorbent article that exhibits a high absorption performance (absorption amount and absorption rate) under any condition and is substantially free from leakage, and an absorber as well as an absorbent article in which this absorbent resin particle are employed.

    An object of the present invention is to provide absorbent resin particles for a water-stopping tape which are superior in absorption rate even when their average particle size is smaller or when their particle size distribution is wider. The present invention relates to absorbent resin particles for a water-stopping tape comprising a crosslinked polymer (A1) comprising a water-soluble vinyl monomer (a1) and/or a hydrolyzable vinyl monomer (a2) and a crosslinking agent (b) as essential constitutional units, wherein a hydrophobic substance (C) is present inside the absorbent resin particles in an amount of from 0.01 to 10.0% by weight relative to the weight of (A1) and (C) is present on the surface of the absorbent resin particles in an amount of from 0.001 to 1.0% by weight relative to the weight of (A1).

    To provide an absorbent article that has a high absorption speed, is unlikely to cause a liquid to remain on a skin-contacting surface, has excellent dry feeling, and is unlikely to cause excreted body fluid to return. The present invention provides an absorbent article comprising an absorber composed of at least one absorbent layer, wherein a water-absorbent resin powder meeting the following requirements (a) to (d) is disposed in an uppermost layer of the absorber: (a) a bulk density: 0.45 g/ml to 0.62 g/ml; (b) an absorption speed by a vortex method: 20 seconds to 50 seconds; (c) a liquid-passing speed under load: 10 seconds or less; and (d) a moisture absorption blocking ratio: 5% or less.
