  [Pt(Me(2)bipy)Cl-2](Me(2)bipy = 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine) and HC=CC6H4-4-R react in the presence of diisopropylamine and CuI as catalyst to give the platinum bis-acetylides [Pt(Me(2)bipy)(C=CC6H4-4-R)(2)] R = H, Me, NO2.
