Incorporation of [4-2H6,18O2]-valine into δ-(L)-α-aminoadipoyl)-L-cysteinyl-D-valine (ACV), by intact cells of Cephalosporium acremonium, demonstrated the intracellular exchange of one and both valine oxygen atoms.
