  (EN) A method for the effective bleaching of textile goods at temperatures at or below about 140 F which consists essentially in exposing same to an aqueous solution, at said temperatures, containing an amount effective for bleaching of a material capable of generating positive bromine ions (Br+) during the bleaching of said textile goods. The material may be available from a wide variety of sources, including alkali metal hypobromites or alkali metal hypochlorites with a source of bromide ion or a material being selected from the group consisting of: a) an organo-N-bromo compound selected from the group consisting of N-brominated-hydantoins; N-brominated isocyanurates; N-brominated melamines and N-brominated glycolurils; b) an organo-N-chloro-N-bromo compound selected from the group consisting of N-chlorinated-N-brominated-5,5-dialkylhydantoins; N-chlorinated-N-brominated isocyanurates; N-chlorinated-N-brominated melamines and N-chlorinated-N-brominated glycolurils; and c) an organo-N-chloro compound selected from the group consisting of N-chlorinated-5,5-dialkylhydantoins; N-chlorinated isocyanurates, N-chlorinated melamines and N-chlorinated glycolurils, in combination with an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal bromide salt, said alkyl containing up to 8 carbons. (FR) Procede de blanchiment efficace de textiles a des temperatures egales ou inferieures a 140 F consistant essentiellement a traiter lesdits textiles avec une solution aqueuse, auxdites temperatures, contenant une quantite efficace pour le blanchiment d'un materiau pouvant generer des ions brome positifs (Br+) pendant le blanchiment desdits textiles. Le materiau peut etre obtenu a partir d'une grande variete de sources, comprenant des hypobromites de metaux alcalins ou des hypochlorites de metaux alcalins avec une source d'ions bromure ou un materiau etant selectionne dans le groupe se composant de: a) un compose organo-N-bromo choisi dans le groupe se composant de hydantoines N-bromees; isocyanurates N-bromes; melamines N-bromees et glycolurils N-bromes; b) un compose organo-N-chloro-N-bromo; choisi dans le groupe se composant de 5,5-dialkylhydantoines N-chlorees-N-bromees; isocyanurates N-chlores-N-bromes; melamines N-chlorees-N-bromees et glycoluriles N-chlorines-N-bromes; et c) un compose organo-N-chloro choisi dans le groupe se composant de 5,5-dialkyle hydantoines, N-chlorees; isocyanurates N-chlores, melamines N-chlorees et glycoluriles N-chlores, en combinaison avec un metal alcalin ou un sel de bromure de metal alcalino terreux, ledit alkyle contenant jusqu'a 8 atomes de carbone.
