The sample decomposed when dried for analysis a t 60"; another sample was dried for a prolonged period at room temperature but analysis showed that it still contained solvent (carbon 1.6% low). A next fraction, eluted by 4: 10 petroleum ether-benzene on crystallization as above gave short needles, m.p. 175177" (80 mg.); this appeared to be a mixture of XVII and
