    In a polycarbonate resin composition containing a polycarbonate resin and a polycarbosilane compound, the use of the polycarbosilane compound modifies the surface properties of the polycarbonate resin composition without adversely affecting the intrinsic characteristics of the polycarbonate resin, such as transparency, heat resistance, and mechanical properties, e.g., impact resistance. A polycarbonate resin composition containing 100 parts by mass of a polycarbonate resin, 0.001 to 1 part by mass of a metal salt compound, and 0.005 to 5 parts by mass of a polycarbosilane compound has significantly improved flame resistance and high transparency and causes markedly reduced outgassing and mold fouling, without losing impact resistance and heat resistance.

Further, novel branched polycarbonates having (4) taking-off parameter A in addition to the above (1) to (3) is in a certain range are, also disclosed. Such novel branched polycarbonates are effective as raw materials for various moldings, particularly blow moldings such as large-sized blow moldings.

    A polycarbonate resin composition comprising (A) 1 to 99% by weight of a branched polycarbonate having a branched nucleus structure derived from a branching agent represented by the general formula: wherein R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and R¹ to R⁶ are hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or halogen atoms, respectively, a viscosity average molecular weight of 15,000 to 40,000, and an acetone-soluble matter of not more than 3.5% by weight, and (B) 99 to 1% by weight of a thermoplastic polyester resin is disclosed. The polycarbonate resin composition is excellent in fluidability, solvent resistance, and moldability.

    A polycarbonate resin composition comprising 1 to 99% by weight of a branched polycarbonate having a branched nucleus structure derived from a branching agent represented by the general formula: wherein R is a hydrogen atom or an alkylgroup having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and R1 to R6 are are hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups having 1 to 5 carbon atoms or halogen atoms, respectively, a viscosity average molecular weight of 15,000 to 10,000, and an acetone-soluble matter of not more than 3.5% by weight; and 99 to 1% by weight of at least one selected from the group consisting of styrene rein, polyamide resin, polyolefin and rubber-like elastomer is disclosed. The above-mentioned polycarbonate resin composition is utilized effectively as the material for various molding products such as industrial materials for automobiles, home electric appliances, and office automation appliances.

    Provided is a polycarbonate resin composition capable of providing a molded body that has a high light transmittance and high light-diffusing property, can be inhibited from yellowing, and has high thin-wall flame retardancy, and a polycarbonate resin molded body obtained by molding the polycarbonate resin composition. The flame-retardant light-diffusing polycarbonate resin composition has a viscosity-average molecular weight of 17,000 or more and includes, with respect to 100 parts by mass of a polycarbonate (A) formed of 10 to 100 parts by mass of a branched polycarbonate (A-1) and 90 to 0 parts by mass of an aromatic polycarbonate (A-2), 0.1 to 5 parts by mass of a light diffuser (B), 0.01 to 1.0 part by mass of a flame retardant (C), 0 to 0.5 part by mass of a polytetrafluoroethylene (D), and 0 to 2 parts by mass of a polyorganosiloxane (E), and the polycarbonate resin molded body is obtained by molding the polycarbonate resin composition.
