Two dicyanamide (dca) MIII complexes with salen ligand, [MnIII(salen)(dca)]n (1) and [FeIII(salen)(dca)]n (2), were synthesized and characterized. X-Ray diffraction analyses revealed the two complexes have a similar one-dimensional zig-zag chain structure constructed by μ1,5-dca bridge.
