  Bi(III) complexes with 2-aminobenzenethiol were studied, and the preparation and properties of the new compound tris(2-ammoniumbenzenethiolato)bismuth(III) chloride are reported. Spectral and emf data are consistent with the zwitterionic nature of the ligand. A mercury-bis(2-aminobenzenethiolato)mercury(II) electrode is proposed and used to follow the relative changes in 2-aminobenzenthiol concentration
