  An electrophilic ring-opening reaction of 2-aryl-3,4-dihydropyran with many nucleophiles, such as thiophenols, thiols, benzenesulfinic acid, resorcin, 2-methylfuran, benzamide and allyltrimethylsilane, was developed.
