protocol for palladium-catalyzedoxidative Heck reactions of arylboronicacids with both electron-rich and -deficient olefins is described. In contrast to the normal oxidative Heck coupling, this new method works in the absence of a base, oxygen, or other external oxidants. With a wide variety of substrates tolerated, the method broadens the scope of palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions.
A novel Rh(II)-catalyzed transannulation of 1-tosyl-1,2,3-triazoles with silyl or alkyl enolethers has been developed, which enables the facile synthesis of substituted pyrroles in a regiocontrollable manner. Moreover, the methodology could be extended to access 3-pyrrolin-2-one derivatives with silyl ketene acetals used as the reaction partner.
Catalytic SbF(5) and the use of EtOH as an additive efficiently converted a mixture of phenylalkynes and aldehydes to indanone compounds in one pot, and the reaction stereoselectively afforded the corresponding 2,3-disubstituted indanones as a single trans-isomer.
