  The invention relates to Harungana madagascariensis leaf extract for use in the treatment and/or prevention of acne; a method of preparing Harungana madagascariensis leaf extract comprises the steps of: A) extracting dry and crushed Harungana madagascariensis leaves with a solvent mixture comprising water and ethanol, thereby obtaining a crude extract; B) filtering the crude extract, thereby obtaining a crude extract filtrate; C) contacting the crude extract filtrate with activated charcoal, thereby obtaining a composition; D) filtering the composition obtained after step C), thereby obtaining an extract filtrate; E) concentrating the extract filtrate, thereby obtaining a Harungana madagascariensis leaf extract.
