functional organic molecules, exhibiting unique behavior for applications in organic electronics, single-molecule devices, and sensing. Here we describe the synthesis and characterization of “push–pull macrocycles”: electron-rich and electron-poor moieties linked by a pair of (matched) conjugated bridges. We have developed a two-component macrocyclization strategy that allows these structures to be synthesized

In contrast to the large number of self-assembledring and cage structures based on cis-chelated square-planar metal complexes as connecting nodes, the use of trans-chelated square-planar building blocks is vastly underrepresented in supramolecular coordination chemistry. We here report of a strategy for the formation of self-assembledring structures based on the trans-chelating ligand 1, 2-bis(2
inside the chiral binding pocket crafted by London dispersion about a heterobimetallic [BiRh] paddlewheel complex entails highly effective asymmetric C−H insertion; the resulting products formally correspond to the outcome of classical ester alkylation, allylation, benzylation, or aldol reactions.
Provided is an adhesive composition which exhibits excellent water resistance and warm-water resistance without impairing instantaneous adhesiveness. The 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive composition contains a 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester, and a specific phthalic anhydride derivative, in which the content of the phthalic anhydride derivative is from 0.01 to 5% by mass, relative to the total amount of the adhesive composition. Preferably, the adhesive composition further contains an elastomer.
