The acetates of nickel, palladium, and platinum react with pentafluorothiophenol, C6H5SH, to yield insoluble diamagnetic products of the type M(SC6F5)2. The derivatives of palladium and platinum react with triphenylphosphine in boiling ethanol to produce the compounds M(Ph3P)2(SC6F5)2 and [Pd(Ph3P)(SC6F5)2]2.
