(Diacetoxyiodo)benzene [PhI(OAc) 2 , DIB] was able to promote the reaction of sodium aryl sulfinate and potassium iodide (KI) with alkenes and alkynes to afford the corresponding vinyl sulfones and β-iodovinyl sulfones, respectively, in good yields.
