Xanthate-Mediated Incorporation of Quaternary Centers into Heteroarenes

The xanthate-mediated addition of tertiary alkyl radicals to heteroarenes enabled the easy functionalization of heteroaromatic rings as well as more decorated structures, such as marketed drugs or agrochemicals. This work provides a synthetic tool for efficiently exploring the chemical space by allowing late-stage diversification with a high tolerance toward functional groups.

The remarkable tolerance of polar groups and the ability to introduce quaternary centers are particularly noteworthy features of this process.

A radical based synthesis of a broad variety of protected enantiopure α-amino acids, including fluorinatedderivatives, is described. The radicaladdition furnishes naturally latent mercapto-α-amino acids ideally equipped for native chemical ligation.

A modular, convergent, and operationally simple route to trifluoromethyl alkenes and vinyl fluorides involving a unique carbon–oxygen bond homolysis is reported. Highly functionalized trifluoromethyl alkenes and vinyl fluorides were obtained in good yields and good selectivity.

Intermolecular radicaladditions to various strained olefins such as cyclopropenes, cyclobutenes, azetines and methylenecyclopropanes can be accomplished in useful yield using the xanthate transfer method; the adducts may undergo further cyclisation to give polycyclic structures.

La présente invention a pour objet un latex à chimie de surface modifiée, susceptible d'être obtenu en effectuant une polymérisation radicalaire en émulsion, en présence :
d'au moins un monomère éthyléniquement insaturé ou au moins un polymère possédant des liaisons éthyléniquement insaturées résiduelles,
d'au moins un initiateur de polymérisation radicalaire,
d'au moins un polymère monobloc, dibloc ou tribloc, soluble et/ou dispersable dans l'eau, comprenant à son extrémité un groupement actif, susceptible de former un radical, et choisi parmi les dithioesters, les xanthates, les thioethers-thiones, les dithiocarbamates.
Elle a de même pour objet des poudres redispersables susceptibles d'être obtenues par séchage desdits latex.
